July was gritty & daring! 🤘

The Explorer Chicks have been busy with Backpacking Workshops in the Red River Gorge, camping in Indiana, and trekking the Inca Trail.

Explorer Chick Guides Becca and Lauren checked in to give me an update on everything you all have been up to! Scroll on down to read more!

Right now, Becca remains in Peru with a Private Group, the Chicas Abroad. They are a rad group of women who take the time to travel with each other annually. They are friends, moms, daughters, and family out for an adventure together. Last year, Melanie, the vivacious ring leader reached out to me to curate a private trip for the group. After a year of excitement, training, and build up, the Chicas Abroad are finally in Peru on an Multi-Sport journey to Machu Picchu. Today, they’ll be coasting down a mountain on bikes and hitting the rapids of the Sacred Valley’s Urubamba River.

(Yes, we do work with Private Groups! Heck, you can even bring the Explorer Dudes if you want. For more information on our private trips, head over to HERE. Or you can hit reply!)

Inca Trail Trek to Machu Picchu

The Explorer Chicks just got off the Inca Trail after hiking 4 days to Machu Picchu! Pachamama (Mother Earth in Quechua) graced us with gorgeous weather and unbelievable scenery for the duration of our time in Peru! These women completed one of the most iconic treks in the ENTIRE WORLD with the highpoint at 13,828 feet. SO STINKIN PROUD of these chicas!!!! The past week on the Inca Trail in Peru has been filled with laughter, pushing physical boundaries, encouragement, and embracing the beautiful journey to Machu Picchu.

Indiana Camp Out Weekend:
What can we say besides how amazing and cold (kidding kidding :joy:) this weekend was. We started off Friday hanging at the campsite setting up for the action packed weekend to come, popping up tents, and waiting for the rest of the girls from our tribe to arrive! We spent the night chatting, sipping on refreshing beverages, and learning about our newest best friends. Saturday kicked off with some much needed yoga, followed by some much needed showers, before we headed out for the day on our “Sip n Trip” adventure in Brown County! We had so much fun exploring 2 wineries and 2 distilleries. On our last morning of adventure , we packed up camp, shared breakfast together , exchanged so many hugs and went for our final SHE-nanigan of the trip -ZIP LINING! what a freaking amazing way to end such an amazing weekend.

This trip truly highlighted the sense of family and teamwork that shine through on Explorer Chick trips, with each woman supporting the group as we tackled the ever challenging rock scramble to our campsite.
